Missy Hurley

B2 CEO Missy Hurley, APR has built a reputation for innovation and results, building and executing communications programs that focus on achieving her clients’ goals.

Accredited in public relations, Missy has experience in a wide variety of industries and has garnered results for Omnivore, Community Foundation Tampa Bay, Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council, Synapse Innovation Summit, Sunstar Paramedics, and other clients. With an interest in economic development, she worked closely with the City of Tampa and Ybor City Development Corp. to promote historic Ybor City and with the City of St. Petersburg and the design teams for the new St. Petersburg Pier and the Pier Approach to involve residents in the design process. She's also successfully worked with a number of nonprofits, including SPCA Tampa Bay, St. Petersburg Free Clinic, and Tampa Bay Businesses for Culture and the Arts.

Work that she’s completed for clients has received a number of significant industry awards from Florida Public Relations Association, PRSA Sunshine District and local chapters of PRSA and FPRA. Her PR efforts for Sunstar Paramedics’ “Stay Alert, Stay Alive” public safety campaign were recognized by the American Ambulance Association’s annual AMBY Awards in 2015. In addition, her PR efforts on behalf of Bubba Gump Shrimp Company and Sunscreen Film Festival were recognized by the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International’s distinguished Adrian Awards.

Missy served as president of the Public Relations Society of America Tampa Bay Chapter in 2011, after many years serving in volunteer roles. She now participates in the Counselors Academy section of PRSA on a national level. She’s also active in the Circle of Red, a women’s education initiative of the American Heart Association in Tampa Bay.

Past involvements have included three years as a board member of American Institute of Architects (AIA) Tampa Bay, and volunteer roles with FemFessionals Tampa Bay, Gracepoint Ambassadors, Tampa Bay History Center, University of Tampa’s Board of Counselors, and Florida Suncoast Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Missy received the University of Tampa Alumni Association’s Alumni Achievement Award for business achievements and community involvement in December 2017. She was named to the Business Observer's "40 Under 40" in 2021, and highlighted in Tampa Bay Metro’s Inspiring Women in Business in 2018 and 2020. She was recognized in the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s 2011 Up & Comers awards, and received PRSA Tampa Bay’s Excellence in Community Relations Award in 2007.

An Ohio native, she graduated cum laude from the University of Tampa with a B.A. in communications.
