Public Relations Society of America’s Sunshine District Conference (SunCon) returns to Tampa for the first time in seven years, and this year, B2 co-founders and principals Missy Hurley, APR and Kyle Parks are leading a breakout session on writing.
In “How to Write Shorter, More Powerful Content,” Hurley and Parks will share how to get your content noticed when your audience has a short attention span and is constantly barraged with information. During the session, PR pros can learn tips for writing concise, powerful content that moves readers to act. Even the most seasoned writers will find useful tips in the session.
Hurley and Parks will use lessons learned in launching The Tampa Bay 100, a digital media platform with 100-word stories. Writing very short yet interesting stories can sometimes feel like a jigsaw puzzle, but the writing and editing exercise to get the stories to exactly 100 words has made the principals – and all of our team members – even more powerful writers.
And it’s working: the publication has grown to 24,000 readers. Hurley and Parks will share what they’ve learned about writing over the past 3 years as they’ve grown The Tampa Bay 100.
Register for PRSA SunCon to hear Hurley and Parks’s session. The conference runs July 25-27, 2019 at the Hilton Tampa Downtown.
