Missy Hurley re-elected to national committee

B2 Communications co-founder and principal Missy Hurley, APR has been re-elected onto the 2022 Executive Committee for Public Relations Society of America’s Counselors Academy, the section focused on the business and leadership of public relations agencies.

Founded in 1960, the Counselors Academy is dedicated to helping public relations agency owners and leaders succeed through access to collaborative peer relationships, meaningful professional development, and education programs. Its entrepreneurial members are owners or senior managers of leading independent firms in the U.S. and Canada.

Its Executive Committee consists of 16 senior-level public relations professionals from across the U.S. and Canada. Jennifer Thompson, President & CEO of Anchorage, Alaska-based Thompson & Co. Public Relations serves as the 2022 chair. Rebecca Mosley, managing partner of Kiterocket is chair-elect, and Natalie Ghidotti, APR, President & CEO of Ghidotti Communications, is secretary and treasurer. Jon Goldberg, Chief Reputation Architect at Reputation Architects Inc., is the immediate past chair.

Counselors Academy’s programs foster networking, mentoring, and learning, and each spring, the Counselor Academy holds an annual conference where the industry’s best come together to promote growth, stronger leadership, and the best practices in public relations. Hurley is serving on the conference planning committee, and she is co-chairing the content and marketing committee.

This year's PRSA Counselors Academy conference is taking place May 15-17 in Scottsdale, Arizona. Senior agency executives, decision-makers, advisers and partners will be in attendance to hear from keynote speakers like Marian Salzman, Senior Vice President, Global Communications at Philip Morris International; Vincent Brown, President & CEO of V.Randolph Brown Consulting; and Elizabeth Edwards, founder of Volume PR, Engagement Science Lab, and the Behavioral Communication movement.
