As a Communications Specialist, you’ll contribute to strategic PR plans, pitch media, create content, and connect our work to client goals. You’ll collaborate with an experienced team, learn from a network of PR partners, contribute to the success of client campaigns, and play a key role in the growing agency.

What can you expect in the first few months as a Communications Specialist at B2 Communications?

In the first 30 days at B2:

  • Learn B2 tone and style messages, and services provided to clients
  • Get to know the internal team and the roles and responsibilities within the agency
  • Independently research 1-2 clients to understand their business and industries
  • Build media lists with direction
  • Research opportunities that align with goals
  • Contribute to content calendars
  • Write social media posts, newsletter articles and other short-form content from preexisting materials with guidance
  • Read relevant news outlets
  • Review all client projects with supervisor
  • Use agency tools and technologies

In the first 2 months:

  • Begin writing news releases, fact sheets, and media alerts with guidance
  • Prepare meeting agendas, take notes during client meetings and create briefs with next steps
  • Monitor and share relevant news stories
  • Create media pitches with guidance
  • Develop and maintain content calendars
  • Develop social media content with guidance

In the first 3 months:

  • Understand each assigned client’s value proposition, target audience, industry and key competitors
  • Develop advertorials, case studies and guest columns with guidance
  • Draft media pitches that align with reporters’ needs and clients’ goals
  • Schedule media interviews
  • Independently maintain media lists and track media coverage
  • Research opportunities for visibility and draft submission materials
  • Use content management platforms
  • Analyze data and report on progress toward key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and proactively contribute ideas
  • Work on 3-5 accounts, with ownership of various tasks
