B2 principal Kyle Parks has been named to Virginia Tech’s Communication Advisory Board, a group of distinguished alumni that provides guidance to the university’s Department of Communication.
The board gathers twice a year to offer advice on strategies for the department, while also mentoring top communication students to help prepare them for careers in the field. Board members are communications professionals who have had experience with a wide range of leading companies and organizations from around the country, such as E*Trade Financial Corp., Microsoft Corp., Exelon Corp., the Virginia Lottery, and the Martin Agency.
This fall, the board will participate in a speed mentoring session with high-performing communication students. Board members will meet individually with students for 10 minutes each to review resumes, give advice and discuss careers. Also, as part of the fall meeting, the board will meet with faculty members to discuss their research initiatives.
Kyle earned a B.A. in history from Virginia Tech, completing a wide range of communications and journalism courses at the university. While at Tech, he worked at The Collegiate Times, Virginia Tech’s student-run newspaper, as sports editor and news editor.
