B2’s work receives an Award of Distinction

The Tampa Bay chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) recently recognized B2 Communications principal Missy MacFarlane, APR and senior account executive Laura Fontanills, APR with an Award of Distinction in the annual Image Awards competition.

They received the award in the Online Audience category of Audio/Visual/Online Tools of Public Relations for the 2015 “Summer of Fun” campaign. “Summer of Fun” was developed for the Ybor City Development Corporation (YCDC) as a way to attract more visitors to Tampa’s National Historic Landmark District during the typically slow summer months.

The contest created interest in visiting Ybor City by giving away prize packs with gift cards and tickets for some of the unique assets Ybor City has to offer: its merchants, restaurants, attractions and special events.

The “Summer of Fun” contest yielded more than 1,400 entries, grew the Facebook Page “likes” by 44 percent and achieved the goal of increasing interest in visiting Ybor City during the summer months as measured by website visits, parking information and visitors to Ybor City's Visitor Information Center.
