Alex English

Alex English is the founder of English Public, a marketing strategy and communications consultancy based in Tampa. He works with companies, civic institutions, and mission-driven organizations at inflection points—helping leadership clarify their narrative, sharpen their positioning, and build the marketing systems that translate strategy into measurable growth.

English Public's engagements span narrative and messaging strategy, go-to-market planning, lifecycle marketing, and executive thought leadership. Alex's core conviction is that strong communication begins with a clear story, and the most effective marketing builds around that story, not after the fact.

Before founding English Public, Alex spent more than a decade leading marketing and communications for national brands and public institutions. As Head of Marketing at italist, a luxury e-commerce company, he drove 21% annual revenue growth, increased customer conversion by 33%, and grew annual media placements by 210% in publications including Forbes, Harper's Bazaar, and Business of Fashion. Earlier in his career, he managed public affairs and communications strategy for the Tampa Bay Area Regional Transportation Authority and Jacobs Engineering.

Alex served on the Board of Directors of the Gasparilla Festival of the Arts, where he helped grow attendance by 10% and revenue by 17%. He holds an MBA in Marketing from SDA Bocconi in Milan and a BA in Economics from New College of Florida.
