Translating interesting client work to news coverage

Translating interesting client work to news coverage

At B2, our goal is to position clients as experts in their field, and it certainly helps that we work with industry leaders doing interesting and important work.

One example is Revenue Management Solutions. RMS is one of the world’s leading experts in restaurant and retail pricing, using a data-based approach to provide solutions for a number of leading global brands.

Our work with RMS is an example of how we use targeted media outreach to gain local and national news coverage.

Locally, along with PR partner Williams Consulting Group, we worked with the Tampa Bay Business Journal to feature RMS CEO Tom Kelly in “Executive Files.” RMS has also been featured in the Tampa Bay Times.

On the national level, guest columns from RMS leaders George Rice and John Oakes have been published in Nation’s Restaurant News. Rice focused on the impact of the higher minimum wage on the restaurant industry, while Oakes offered tips for making sense of complex data when you are running a restaurant chain.

The leaders at RMS are extremely well-suited to talk about trends and issues in the restaurant industry, such as how restaurant chains are preparing for an upcoming requirement that they list calorie counts next to menu items.

And knowing experts at companies like RMS is invaluable to reporters, who often need smart, third party sources to use in their stories. Our job is to connect the experts with the media, in turn raising a company’s visibility while enhancing its credibility.
