B2 Communications, a St. Petersburg-based public relations agency, has added a new account executive to its team. Brigitta Shouppe brings more than 10 years of experience to her new part-time role at the agency.

As an account executive, Shouppe works on projects involving media relations, content creation, social media and implementing strategic plans for the firm’s clients. Prior to joining B2, Shouppe was the external and legislative affairs manager for the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office prior to being promoted to assistant director of public relations for the Sheriff’s Office. In that role, she helped lead public relations efforts and oversight of community programs, media relations, public affairs, government relations and crisis communications.

Active in political work, she has held public relations positions for 19 candidates in the Tampa Bay area, notably Sen. Jack Latvala and Rep. Ed Hooper, as well as her hometown member of the U.S. House of Representatives, Rep. Peter J. Roskam of Illinois.

Shouppe is a member of the Leadership Pinellas Class of 2014, an organization connecting leaders with the opportunity to increase their community knowledge, civic network and service to the community. She is a past member of AchieveHERS, established by the Clearwater Chamber of Commerce, and served on its PR committee.

She graduated from the University of Tampa with a bachelor’s degree in criminology and a dual minor in law and justice and psychology. She’s currently pursuing a master’s degree in journalism and media studies from the University of South Florida, with plans to complete it this year.
