Our team stays on top of the latest changes at Facebook to be able to give our clients advice that keeps pace with Facebook’s changes. Yesterday, B2 senior account executive Laura Fontanills, APR attended the Facebook Small Business Boost in Ybor City.
The session reinforced the best practices we already follow and communicate to our clients. A few key takeaways from this session include:
- Only post once a day. This may seem counterintuitive, but if you post more than once per day, your content competes with your other posts in Facebook’s algorithm. Posting once a day gives you the best chance to reach your audience.
- Limit the amount of text on an image to less than 20 percent. Text-heavy posts can’t be boosted or used as ads, and according to Facebook, users aren’t stopping to read them either. Users want to see images of activity, product shots and other people.
- The average user receives 100-300 stories in their news feed per day. So your posts are facing a lot of competition. Set aside a small budget for ads and boosted posts to help you reach your goals.
- Don’t delete negative comments or reviews. Respond quickly and maintain transparency. Only delete if the comment is derogatory or uses foul language.
- Content is still king. Utilize Facebook’s page insights and the ad manager to see which content and ads are resonating with the most people. Make adjustments to your strategy as necessary.
