Shandia Lewis-Booker is a Fall 2022 PR intern with B2 Communications. She is currently a junior at the University of Florida and pursuing a degree in public relations.
At B2, she is further developing the PR skills she’ll need to enter and succeed in the field. She is assisting the B2 team in creating media coverage reports, social media content, press releases, and completing research projects.
In addition, Shandia serves as Vice President of UF’s chapter of Black Public Relations Student Society. In this role, she directs team meetings, trains members, and organizes meetings with PR professionals. She also opened the student club’s first bank account.
Shandia is also passionate and involved in her role as facilitator for Changemakers Dialogue, a student-led club at UF that facilitates conversations about students’ identities and experiences. As part of this role, she helped develop lesson plans for University of Florida students on the effects of academic competition on mental health. And she coached eight students on effective dialogue and how to understand different student identities during a 5-week series.
Previously, Shandia worked as a social media assistant for the University of Florida’s African American Studies Program. She doubled the program’s Instagram following by increasing the reach of posts through effective promotional strategies and campaigns.
Her on-campus experiences, along with an interest in learning, make her a fantastic addition to the B2 team.
