B2 Communications has added Katherine Snow Smith to its team as a senior account executive. Smith brings more than 20 years of high-level journalism experience to her new role.
At B2, Smith works with clients such as Harvard Jolly Architecture, the Carter G. Woodson African American Museum, Premier Eye Care and various residential developers on managing strategic projects, implementing ideas on public engagement campaigns, and developing content. Within her work, she cultivates relationships with journalists and secures news coverage for her clients.
“Katherine is a tremendous asset to our growing team, and has already made an impact with our clients,” said Kyle Parks, principal of B2 Communications. “She brings a unique perspective for writing and for media relations, and we’re excited to have her with us.”
Prior to joining B2, Smith was the editor of Bay Magazine for three years, where she planned and wrote the majority of the articles for the arts and culture magazine published by the Tampa Bay Times. Under her leadership, Bay Magazine won several awards, including being ranked No. 3 in a competition for best niche publication in the country by the Society of Features Journalism.
Before her time at Bay Magazine, Smith was a reporter for more than 20 years at the Tampa Bay Times. She covered business topics ranging from the explosive growth of Pasco County to the renaissance of downtown St. Petersburg. Smith also wrote the Times’ Rookie Mom column for 10 years, chronicling her life as the mother of three.
Smith’s prolific journalism career started in Greenville, South Carolina, where she reported for The Greenville News. She went on to work for the Charlotte Business Journal and the Tampa Bay Business Journal.
In addition to her client work at B2, Smith recently moderated a conversation with famed author Lisa Unger for the Working Women of Tampa Bay, a community of entrepreneurial women which works to achieve success and motivation among strong women. She admits she “never met a microphone she didn’t like.”
Smith is a native of Raleigh, North Carolina, and received her bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
