Saunders also earns her Accreditation in Public Relations (APR)

B2 Communications has promoted experienced public relations practitioner Leah Saunders, APR, from senior account executive to account manager. In her new role, Saunders will lead media relations and strategic communications initiatives for a number of clients, while also assisting with the agency’s crisis communications practice and overall strategy and direction.

Saunders also recently earned her Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) certification, which recognizes practitioners who demonstrate a mastery of strategic communications and a commitment to lifelong learning and ethical standards in public relations.

Saunders began her public relations career in 2010 as an account coordinator with B2 Communications. She was quickly promoted to account executive and gained a solid foundation in writing and media relations, particularly for clients in the real estate and development fields.

She then worked as a public relations coordinator for Visit Tampa Bay, where she worked with regional, national and international media to promote tourism in Hillsborough County. Prior to rejoining B2 as a senior account executive in 2015, she served as the PR and marketing manager for Hillsborough County, where she managed the PR team and created and implemented communications plans for the county.

Saunders now works with real estate and development clients such as Lennar, Metro Development Group, Crescent Communities and Colliers International Tampa Bay, Central & Southwest Florida on their public relations initiatives, such as media relations, content creation and strategic planning.

“Leah has become a key player on the B2 team and is an invaluable asset and resource for our clients,” said Kyle Parks, co-principal of B2 Communications. “Her promotion to account manager was the natural result of her professional growth, reflecting how she is a major factor in B2’s quality client service and continued growth.”

In addition to her client work, Saunders volunteers her knowledge and skills in public relations to The Edible Peace Patch Project, a non-profit organization that helps build educational gardens in Title 1 schools. She is also a past president of the Florida Public Relations Association’s (FPRA) Tampa Bay Chapter.

Saunders graduated with a bachelor’s in Advertising and Public Relations from the University of Central Florida.
