B2 receives two PR awards

The Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Sunshine District recently presented B2 Communications with two Awards of Commendation at the annual statewide Radiance Awards, which took place at the PRSA Sunshine District Conference in Miami.

B2 was recognized in the Reputation/Brand Management category for its work on “Changing the Conversation: Public Transportation Commission is more than Uber and Lyft.” This campaign was developed for the Hillsborough County Public Transportation Commission (PTC) as a way to improve its online and media presence and make information on its programs easier to access for the general public. B2 worked to change the perception of the PTC and how it regulates for-hire transportation in Hillsborough County.

B2 focused the campaign on the services the PTC offers that help consumers but are not widely known. This includes the PTC’s oversight of the towing industry and programs such as Alert Cab and Tow to Go (in partnership with Budweiser and AAA), which are available during the holidays to help keep drunk drivers off the road.

B2 was also recognized in the Social Media category for its work on the “Summer of Fun” campaign for Discover Ybor City, Tampa’s National Landmark Historic District. “Summer of Fun” was developed for the Ybor City Development Corporation (YCDC) as a way to attract more visitors to Tampa’s National Historic Landmark District during the typically slow summer months.

The contest created interest in visiting Ybor City by giving away prize packs with gift cards and tickets for some of the unique attractions Ybor City has to offer, including its merchants, restaurants, attractions and special events.

The Radiance Awards highlight Florida public relations campaigns that demonstrate excellence in research, planning, implementation and evaluation. B2 was one of only a few organizations honored with multiple awards of commendation in the 2016 Radiance Awards.
