Giving back to the community

As part of B2 Communications’ ongoing commitment to community involvement, the three principals continue to take new positions with local organizations.

Kyle Parks was invited to assist with PR as part of his participation on a panel focused on creating a downtown St. Petersburg waterfront master plan. The panel is part of a collaborative effort between the City of St. Petersburg and the St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce, with input from the Urban Land Institute (ULI).

His involvement in real estate organizations like ULI Tampa Bay and CREW Tampa Bay benefits B2’s clients in and near real estate, such as Colliers International, Halpern Enterprises, and Arnstein & Lehr.

Jesse Landis, APR was recently selected to join the University of Tampa’s Employer Advisory Board, where he’ll help advise the school’s Career Service department. Jesse joins a couple dozen members from some of Tampa Bay’s top organizations to help UT students and alumni, and local employers. Jesse also serves on the Board of Directors for UT’s National Alumni Association and with the USF Corporate Mentorship Program. Plus, this month he graduated from the intensive Leadership St. Pete program.

Missy MacFarlane, APR is now on the Board of Directors for the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Tampa Bay Chapter, the local chapter of a national professional association for architects and companies related to the architecture field. As the Board’s only (non-architect) “Public Member,” she will provide perspective to the Board on communicating the value of architecture and impact of design in the community. She has gained knowledge about the industry through working with such clients as Ybor City Development Corp.

Additionally, B2 account coordinators Stephanie Wielinski and Jenny Fogle recently joined the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), and are looking forward to getting involved with the Tampa Bay Chapter, of which Missy is a Past President.
