Two University of South Florida St. Petersburg journalism students have joined B2 as summer interns to gain experience in the public relations field. Katie Wilcox and Cat Kouretsos are the latest upcoming professionals to take part in B2’s public relations internship program.
Katie and Cat are assisting the B2 team with client work and attaining the knowledge needed to launch their careers.
Katie is a senior at USFSP and will graduate in spring 2017 with her bachelor’s degree in journalism and media studies. This past year, she was named to the Chancellor’s List, an honor awarded to full-time students who maintain a 4.0 GPA during the school year.
Outside of B2, Katie is the PR and Social Media Director for Theatre eXceptional, a local non-profit devoted to theatre for, with, and about adults with disabilities. She also manages social media accounts for the Plaza Beach Resorts on St. Pete Beach.
At B2, Katie is assisting the agency’s account teams with research, writing and reporting for clients such as USAmeriBank, Tampa Bay Businesses for Culture and the Arts, and Marlow’s Tavern. Katie is also excited to help with SPCA Tampa Bay because she adopted her first “fur baby” from the animal welfare organization last September.
Cat recently graduated from USFSP with her bachelor’s degree in mass communications with a focus in journalism, media relations and a minor in history. Cat served her school as the Director of Communications for the Harborside Activities Board (HAB) and for Student Government (SG).
In addition, Cat is also the Founder and Owner of CoKi by Kouretsos, a home & event décor firm based out of Tampa.
Cat is gaining experience by assisting our team on clients such as Metro Development, St. Petersburg Free Clinic, and SoHo Capital.
B2 maintains a strong public relations internship program designed to help current students and recent graduates learn the skills needed to succeed in pubic relations. Two interns join our team each semester. Learn more about our available internships here.
