Two USF students gain PR experience as summer interns

At B2 Communications, we are proud of our ongoing intern program, because it’s important to do what we can to help college students and recent graduates expand on what they’ve learned in school and apply it to the real world.

This summer, Kaley Martin and Caitlin Ashworth have joined the team to assist with client work and to gain valuable experience that will help them as they launch their careers.

Caitlin is a senior at the University of South Florida St. Petersburg and pursuing a degree in journalism and media studies. She is the managing editor of the student newspaper, The Crow’s Nest, for the 2015-2016 school year and previously worked as the arts and life editor.

Before joining B2, Caitlin interned with the Salvador Dalí Museum’s online publication En Garde! where she further developed her reporting, writing and editing skills.

At B2, Caitlin builds media lists, assists with press release distribution, and helps with the creation of monthly coverage and activity reports for various clients including Ybor City Development Corp., SPCA Tampa Bay, St. Petersburg Free Clinic and Fisher & Phillips.

Kaley graduated magna cum laude from the University of South Florida with a bachelor’s degree in mass communications, with a concentration in public relations, and a minor in communication. She was an active member in the Public Relations Student Society of America and two national collegiate honor societies.

Kaley works with B2 team members to develop social media content, create media lists and assist with press release distribution for clients such as Sunstar Paramedics, USAmeriBank and Colliers International.
